NEGATIVITY can move you into a POSITIVE direction

God gave me this message just this past Saturday. I am currently under the weather (In Jesus' name, I will be well when this article posts). I'm talking head congestion, body aches, fluctuating temperature-the works. I usually have at least one article written by Saturday but this cold has really had me weak and unfocused. Aside from that, I missed the final play practice for the Christmas play at church so I was super bummed.

As I laid in bed, tissues everywhere, not able to find my meds, feeling as if I let my church members down, I ask God "How can I possibly get Your work done like this? I don't even know what to write." God, being the AWESOMENESS that HE is, had an answer. He had me go on Facebook to check on a previous co-worker.(named Andy for the sake of this post) While on Andy's page I notice our previous manager (named Jamie for the sake of this post) is now on Facebook and has commented on Andy's page.

While under Jamie's leadership, I was informed that I not only had NO customer service skills (this was a customer service position) but really NO skills at all. And  "Maybe you should consider going back to school or becoming, I don't know, a secretary?" Note: I find nothing wrong with secretaries but apparently Jamie did based on the condescending tone "secretary" in which was spoken.

I had forgotten all about Jamie and this interesting, to say the least, conversation altogether until I saw the Facebook post. Talk about my fire being lit!! I got up, got myself together and begin writing IMMEDIATELY.

I have this long drawn out story (as usual) to say, DON'T LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR JOY. ANYONE! Ask God for guidance on EVERY aspect of your life and He will make your crooked paths straight. Your calling may not be writing a weekly Christian blog (like a certain someone) but understand this: God wants the absolute best for you! God says you have not because you ask not.

Thank God, I allowed Jamie's foolish words roll right off of me. Sometimes, we are not so lucky. Ill words spoken to or about you can take a piece of your joy. It can also cause you to be fearful of trying the things God has placed in your heart.

Come into agreement with me that every curse spoken against you is broken in the name of Jesus! We condemn any tongue that rises up against you. God has set a place for you before your enemies. Vengeance is His for "I will repay" says the Lord!

One of God's many titles is Restorer! Don't be afraid to try things that are in your spirit. (and in God's will) Even if they don't go as you hoped, so what?! If you never went for it, you would not be able to scratch it off of your "to do" list. God may have used that venture as part of your testimony to help others. Remeber, He doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

I find that the most negative people are those who's dreams were killed. They found no encouragement from others, became fearful to venture out and feel "some type of way" about people who do. Seeing you try new things, reminds them of the rejection and fear they have experienced. They are miserable as a result. Misery loves company but as I say "I have a much better time with happiness!"

Depending on whom it comes from, negativity can be very hurtful. We must pray to keep ourselves covered (guarding your heart) from attacks and sincerely pray for those speaking against you and anyone else will be delivered from that negative spirit. Carrying negativity around can be a heavy load. Imagine how much lighter they would be without it!

On another note: I think I may send my blog to Jamie and ask "Is this what you had it mine? (= " Hahaha, j/k

Are You Being Fed the Main Course of Just a Side Dish?

Prophets are wonderful people, chosen by the Almighty God.  Those in the prophetic ministry hear directly from the Lord and they convey His message to His people. This is one of the gifts Jesus Christ gave to the church (Ephesians 4:11); part of the fivefold ministry. It takes a special relationship with the Lord- a deep dedication- to walk in this ministry.

The pastor of my church is a prophet. My husband and I love our prophet and his wife, who is our Co-Pastor. Not only have they spoken a prophetic Word over our lives but they actually apply the Word of God into their lives. Not everyone practices what they preach BUT THEY DO. Our Pastor and Co-Pastor sincerely and continuously intercede on behalf of the congregation. And talk about unity! I have seen the two of them together several times in the spirit realm, walking arm and arm. It is one thing to appear to be united in front of others but to have God actually reveal them to me in visions in unison; TRUE UNITY!!

I appreciate when God gives our Prophet a Word to relay to us. In fact, I became on fire for the Lord as a result of a message our Prophet gave to me from God. As I grow deeper in my relationship with God I understand that the things spoken by our Prophet are additional blessings and confirmations about things God may have already spoken to me. We all must come to a place where we develop a relationship with God and not JUST depend on a Word from the Prophet or any other form of leadership.

Understand that God is trying to talk TO you also, not just to someone else FOR you. Think about the entire congregation versus one prophet. That is a lot of individual Word to give out! We must seek God for ourselves! I am not, by any means saying not to accept or want a prophetic Word. As I mentioned earlier, my life is forever changed by God using our prophet. I was depressed, hurt, broken and lost until God used not one, but two prophets on New Years Eve 2010 to speak to me. I experienced what Jeremiah felt; fire shut up in my bones! I have never been the same! Hallelujah! I thank God for His prophets.

What I AM saying is this: the Word spoken to me would have been useless if I had not taken action on it. When we are given a Word, it is for a reason, especially if it related to a gift or a shifting that God wants to come forth. Don’t ignore, feel defeated by or forget about a Word spoken over you and seek another. He placed one before the other for a reason!

God may purposely not give anyone a Word for you because He wants you to seek Him for it. His Word says “Those who seek me will SURELY find me.” (Proverbs 8:17) The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. (Lamentations 3:25) And since it is the Word of God doesn’t it make sense to seek HIM for it? As you seek him DAILY and sometimes MULTIPLE times within a day, you will hear what He wants for you. Words spoken by the prophet will then become confirmations and bonus blessings, not ALL you have from The Lord. Think of it as the prophet adding on a side dish to your meal versus waiting on him/her to give you the main course (plus the side dishes for those who constantly want a prophetic Word. Be honest!)  The side dish compliments that main course which was given to you directly from the Head Chef. If you go to the prophet for the main dish, he may not have time to feed you or give you all you are wanting. Then you (your spirit) will go hungry!

Also, keep this in mind: all prophets are NOT from the Lord. False prophets do exist. Many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. (Matt 24:11) Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. (Matt 7:15) There was one on the TV recently, predicting the end of the world for 2012. That is not true. Not only will the world still be here but the people of God will be flourishing like never before! We will be so much in unison, saving souls and living the abundant life that the enemy is sending out his folk to try to stop it. They are falsely “predicting” the world is ending as a distraction to get the people of the Lord of course for what God is about to do. By telling these false dreams, they are trying to get my people to forget me. (Jeremiah 23:27) God says you can spot a false prophet in this way: Deuteronomy 18:21 & 22 (If he speaks something and it does not come true). Not to worry though, God will handle them. False prophets and those who seek their guidance will all be punished for their sins. (Ezekiel 14:10)

Above all else, seek God. When you do, He will give you EVERYTHING YOU NEED. (Luke 12:31)  That includes discernment to know when someone is speaking and it is not of Him.

Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged. Psalm 69:32 (=

FIGHT FOR YOUR MARRIAGE!

Marriages are constantly under attack. Satan hates marriages because represents unity and he does his best work in division. It is a covenant ordained by God. A marriage is a special bond that God created for a man and woman to share. It should be structured with Christ as the Head/CEO, with the husband as the Home Manager and the wife as the Administrative Assistant. Marriage means being a team NOT in competition.

As fellow Christians we should definitely NOT “put our mouth on” someone else’s marriage. Each relationship is different because the people involved are different. What God wants for someone else may not work for you. A God appointed marriage is such a blessing! It is flowing with favor, blessings and God’s grace. If we are speaking against one another’s marriages, we are talking against God. Is that what you really want to do? What God has placed together, let no one pull apart. (Mark 10:9) Instead of negativity, we should speak life and encourage those who are in marriages. Pray for their guidance, and then pray for our own.

God says it is time to give a refresher (or first course for some) on how marriage should be. He says some of us are listening to the WRONG people concerning marriage. Some of us are not seeking help at all. He does not want to see his people divorced; He hates divorce. (Malachi 2:16) Here a list of Scriptures on topics pertaining to marriage. The Word of God is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword. (Hebrews 4:12) So study it! Speak it into your atmosphere! NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE DEALING WITH, JESUS CAN FIX IT!

Of course, this post is not limited to those who are currently married. If you are looking to marry, read about what God wants for you. Also, this post does not exclude those NOT seeking marriage; your situation is between you and God. This post is written to explain marriage, clarify the roles/responsibilities of a spouse and to restore marriages that are currently in a broken state.

The Altar: Take Some, Leave Some

Going to the altar is a wonderful/powerful/awesome experience. The purpose of an altar call is to receive deliverance; deliverance from anything or anyone that's keeping you or the person you are praying for from what God has for you. Also gain freedom from anything/anyone holding you (or them) in bondage. Everyone responds differently while at the altar. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that; it's between you and the Lord. No matter how you respond, please remember to do one thing in particular; leave your cares there with the Lord. Do not take them back to the pew with you. The Word of God says: Give ALL your worries and cares to God, for HE cares about YOU. 1 Peter 5:7

Deliverance has a root word; deliver. Deliver those strong holds to the Lord. They may be overwhelming to you but nothing is too hard for our God. Just think of a pizza delivery. The delivery person leaves the pizza and takes your money (along with any coupons you may have blessed with). There is an exchange. In the same way, deliverance is all about taking some and leaving some.  Give your burdens to the Lord, and he WILL take care of you. He WILL NOT permit the godly to slip and fall. (Psalms 55:22) Exchange those cares for His Glory, His Peace, His Joy. Leave that despair and take some hope into the workplace. Leave that brokenness and take some healing back home with you. Jesus can restore, finish, create, change, heal, cover, and save ANY situation! Whatever you receive, know that it is yours TO KEEP. Do not let anything take your deliverance from you! What God has for you, it is for you! His thoughts are precious towards you! Psalm 139:17
Look at it this way; as long as God keeps those things you LEFT on the altar (and He will), you can keep those things which He's GIVEN to you. Even if you left your sins on the altar, once you give them to God, they are gone! He removes them as far as the east is from the west. (Psalm 103:12)  It is only when you take back those issues, concerns, heartaches that you GIVE back the goodness of the Lord. You can’t have both. How can you be joyous and in despair?  In debt and prosperous?

Maybe this exercise will work for you. Write everything you want to give to God on a piece of paper (seal it in an envelope if you like) and actually leave it on the altar. Don't worry about anyone exposing you. God will not allow it to fall into the wrong hands. If you do not attend church or don't care to go to the altar, that is OK! God is omnipresent so you are not confined to the altar.  If you would like, find a place where you can talk to God and trust leaving your cares. You cannot go back to retrieve it. (If you do not feel comfortable physically leaving your cares anywhere, do a mental drop off. Be sure to pick a beautiful location (: ) Once you drop it off, it’s GONE! Hallelujah! No more worries! You’ve casted your cares on Him.

I will add, you may not see immediate results but don’t worry. Work your faith and God will work out the rest. Let Go and let God! He answers prayers! Here are a few scriptures attesting to this: Psalm 34:4, 66:19, 118:21,120:1, Genesis 30:17, Judges 13:9.

Let me add this while I'm adding; listen to Trade MySorrows by Israel Houghton. That is my soonnnggg! Also, it relates a lot to this posting.

Be blessed people, God loves you! He wouldn’t have given His only begotten Son if He didn’t!  (:

Plan your work and work your plan!

Note before reading below: The funds promised in this article are not about you. Yes, you read it correctly. They are not about you. They are, however, about getting God’s work done and spreading the good news of His love and how Jesus died for us all. Ministry work is what it’s all about. I placed this paragraph here instead of at the end because once you read about the money; you may go into a daze and lose sight of the purpose.

NOW LETS GET TO THE GOOD STUFF

There was a certain, let’s just say “contest” going on across the country for which the top prize was $1 million. For legal reasons I will not disclose the name of the contest. In all honesty, I was pretty excited about the contest so I entered it. Soon after, God convicted my heart and told me not to participate because the contest represents a form of gambling. Now, we’re all at different levels with our conviction, but lets be clear: gambling is against God. It’s a type of get-rich-quick scheme that leads to greed and the love of money – all against God. See Matthew 6:24, Proverbs 28:22, 1 Timothy 6:9-10, Ecclesiastes 5:10, Luke 12:15, and Hebrews 13:5.

So I must admit I was a little disheartened about not being able to participate in the contest. In my disappointment I didn’t realize my desire to participate in the contest was the manifestation of a familiar spirit trying to revisit me. As I sat on my bed one day God spoke to me and asked, “Why are you so anxious to get $1 million? What are you going to do when I give it to you?” Notice I said God said when, not if. Believe it or not God does provide wealth for His people. ((Read about the lives of Abraham, Lot, Jacob and Job.)) These men had wealth because of God’s favor on their lives. They served God and brought glory to His name with everything He had given them. Note that not everyone’s wealth comes from The Lord. There are some wealthy people in this world that are not for God. But do not envy the wicked. The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the just.

Anyway...So, though I was a little shocked at the question I replied, “Umm, I don’t know. Get stuff.” Then God asked, “What do you mean stuff? And I replied, “You know, a home so we can provide a ministry for free or little cost. I’ll also set aside some money to promote our ministries and I’ll give to the church. We do want another car. You know, stuff.” I think God is content with my answer. Thankfully He can see my heart and look pass me fumbling through my words to understand exactly what I would actually do if blessed with $1 million. Next God asked me if I had written down my plans. “No, sir,” I replied, as I began writing them down on a piece of paper. I added money for our extended family to my list, as well as an estimate of our taxes and the amount of money my husband, Reggie, and I need to pay off our debts. God said, “Okay. This is a good start but you need to develop a business plan.” Hmmm…I thought, a business plan? Really? Then I shook my head. Did I really question God? Please understand; I questioned what He said, not who He is...still wrong though. Again, I am so thankful he knows my heart and that I meant no disrespect to Him.
God wanted me to understand that it was imperative that I develop a solid business plan. He reminded me of my business degree and that I already know what a business plan is and its relevance. In the secular world, people create business plans to present to banks when applying for loans. God wanted me to understand He has money to give me – not loan me – but he fully expects me to develop a business plan so I will be mindful of what is required of me once he blesses me with the money. So I began saying “Okay, Lord. Thank you. Thank you.” Trust me when I tell you I was speechless. I mean, what could I say after a conversation with God like that? He said one last thing to me: “Don’t focus your mind on just $1 million because once you spend $1 of that money you’re no longer a millionaire.” To His people he says, “Don’t be discouraged or overwhelmed if you are not business savvy. I can meet each of you where you are. Listen to me, to complete what I feel is sufficient.”
Amazing! God is just so awesome. If you’re reading this, it’s meant for you to see it. Get your business plan in order to receive the blessings from The Lord. And just so you know, this is described in Habakkuk 2:2-3.
Then the Lord said to me,
“Write my answer plainly on tablets,
so that a runner can carry the correct message to others.
This vision is for a future time.
It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled.
If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently,
for it will surely take place.
      It will not be delayed.
