Matters of the Heart

The Holy Spirit showed me a correlation of heart matters with a tube of Zion's eczema cream (for those just tuning in, Zion is my toddler son) .  My husband and I, misplaced the tube cap. As a result, air entered the tube and the cream near the tube opening became hard. The tube was still workable when the cap was first misplaced; we could find cracks through the hardened areas and still cause the regular cream to come forth. As time went on, layers of hard cream surrounded the tube opening.  So hard that it is now difficult to squeeze the cream out, even with force. Applying force causes the cream to come out at other ends of the tube! The top seems sealed completely and we now have cracks on either side of the tube in which cream comes oozing out.

Our hearts can be very similar to this tube of eczema cream. Our feelings may be misplaced and allows our heart to be given to the wrong person. Or our heart is open at this wrong time, allowing the wrong things to enter. Or again, we may have our hearts properly open to the right person (parent for example) and that person may be suffering from a hardened heart. Any and all of these scenarios result in a hardened heart. After the heart is hardened, force must be applied to get through to it. Unfortunately, not everyone is willing, able, or understanding enough to apply the right amount of force to our hearts to get through to the soft portion. The hard areas may be too thick.

As a result, those seeking our heart may only experience the hardened areas. If they are willing to stick around through the layers of negativity, anger, sadness, bitterness, etc. associated with a hardened heart, they will began to see glimpses of our heart piercing through. Forcing the hardened heart of someone may result in a lot of emotions bursting out at once. This can result in unhealthy romantic, friend and family relationships.

Our hearts must be properly dealt with. The proper way is by giving our heart to God. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. Ezekiel 36:26  The hard heart/ cream is replaced with the soft. This exchange comes by revelation, repentance and deliverance. This exchange also allows us to be lighter, as we are not longer carrying the stony weight of the pains, hurts, and disappointments in our heart. We have given them to God to deal with on our behalf. He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.Psalm 147:3. Even when we are wronged by others, we must give these things to God. It does us no good to carry them, meanwhile the person(s) who gave them to you have long forgotten about them. Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Not giving them to the Lord allows other things to birth and build upon them, which brings even more weight. Your heart which began as a soft, fleshly, properly functioning organ becomes more and more compressed as we add hardened layers. Please understand, this is is not just a pep talk given within a blog; I have given many MANY hurtful things as well as their birthings to God. They include family members, pride, molestation, rejection, anger, and SEVERAL more. I am thankful to Jesus for allowing me total deliverance from these and future issues and the strength to expose my heart to Him. He is more than willing to heal EVERYONE from EVERYTHING unlike Him! We just have to let Him !

This is one of the most inspiring articles that I have read concerning the heart. As you say God is more than willing to heal us from everything, we just have to let him! Keep up the great, great work!
